During his first retirement from the NBA Michael Jordan decided be would attempt to conquer another professional sport as he began his career as a professional baseball player. Although Jordan's success was relatively limited as he struggled during his time with the AAA Birmingham Barons. Luckily for us Jordan realized what his true calling was and got back to playing basketball. This transfer to the baseball diamond for MJ made quite a few headlines and now once again Jordan and the Barons are making headlines, just within the sneaker community this time as images of the Air Jordan 9 "Barons" have recently surfaced. As you can see below the sneaker will feature a white and grey upper with hints of black and most interestingly Jordan's baseball number, "45", is sewn on the back of the shoe.
The model has been given a release date of April 5th so be sure to mark your calendars if you plan on trying to pick up a pair later this year. What do you think of Jordan Brand paying homage to Jordan's baseball career? Is this a must have sneaker for the early part of 2014? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below.
