Anfree "Penny" Hardaway became an icon in the 90s as he often battled Michael Jordan himself to create a bit of an Eastern Conference rivalry. Hardaway not only rivaled Jordan on the court but also in the sneaker game as the Nike Air Penny line was born, starting off with a classic in the Nike Air Foamposite One. For today's installment of the Sneaker of the Day we bring you the Nike Air Penny III. Penny himself did not wear these much on the court due to injury, but that did not stop these from becoming quite popular upon their release in 1997.
