Mars Blackmon, played by Spike Lee, is an iconic personality in Air Jordan advertisement history. The character got his start in the 1986 film She's Gotta Have It as a loud talking sports fanatic. Lee's performance in the film lead to him being approached by Nike. From there a sneaker icon was born as Mars Blackmon went on to star in commercials for the Air Jordan 3, 4, 5, 6, 18, 20.
